Love Letters

Since my grandma passed away last month the entire family has been visiting the house and going through boxes of various items. Everyone reminiscing and taking with them mementos to remember her and my grandpa by. Each one of the eight children have a box filled with every card, letter, and picture ever given to my grandparents from them. My grandparents held on to every note and thoughtful item given to them by their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

My Grandma would often visit her hometown of Guadalajara, Mexico during the summer months. My mom being the eldest of the eight children would always write her while she was away. Here are two letters my Mom sent my Grandma while she was visiting Mexico to check in and keep her updated on life back in Phoenix. One is from 1972 and is the first time she mentions meeting my Dad. The second letter is sent two years later in 1974, a postcard, sent from my Mom & Dad's honeymoon. 👫
